Reconstruction Poetry Assignment using Primary Sources
- Primary Source: Read Letter from an African American citizens of Wilmington to the President. Turn the letter into a 16 line song or poem. An advanced Poem or song will be longer than 16 lines and will incorporate other themes, concepts, and events from the Reconstruction Period during US History.

- adapt the primary source into an 8 pane comic ...or...
- write a three paragraph response to the letter. Assume the role of the person that received the letter. Write your response from the recipients perspective.
